THE AMARI PROJECT is a social support project designed to strengthen and build support for sexual/gender minority people of color (youth and adults) who have been:  involved with the criminal justice system; who may also have substance use/abuse and/or mental health issues.

The goals of the AMARI Project are to integrate life planning and support services, build skills for healthier decisions, improve your quality of life, and reduce risk of/for:  addiction (drugs/alcohol), HIV infection and re-offending.

AMARI utilizes motivational coaching to obtain these goals.

AMARI Workshops include:

  • Addiction and Recovery
  • Employment Skills Development
  • Financial Management
  • Risk Reduction Skills
  • Social Skills Development

AMARI Project Components Include:

  • HIV/AIDS Prevention Education
  • HIV/AIDS Counseling, Testing and Referral Services
  • Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Referral Services
  • Hepatitis Screening and Treatment Referral Services
