COLOURS Community Advisory Board (C-CAB)
The COLOURS Organization, Inc. has a notable history of positively affecting the lives of many people in our community. Since its creation, COLOURS has been committed to understanding the diverse and changing needs of the communities it serves. It is to this end that the Board of Directors is pleased to re-establish the COLOURS Community Advising Board to help facilitate new interest and initiatives for the organization. As a directive of the Board of Directors, the COLOURS Community Advising Board (C-CAB), will play an integral role in offering advice and suggestions on current and future programs offered by the organization, as well as act as liaison to the community on behalf of the organization. The C-CAB will consist of both HIV positive and negative members.
The C-CAB serves three primary functions:
- To advise in the planning, implementation and evaluation of events and activities as a way to ensure that the needs of the community coincide with organizational planning initiatives.
- To provide a vehicle for effective community input about organizational programming and community service initiatives, as well as noting and reporting on the organization’s impact on the community, particularly in regard to major policy decisions.
- To provide input in the community component of planning Philadelphia Black Gay Pride, Inc, and other initiatives to be determined.
Decisions will be made by consensus. In the event consensus cannot be reached, we will employ the parliamentary procedures of Robert’s Rules of Order.
